Center for Teaching and Learning
At the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) our mission is to support our community of learners - from the ninth grade students to veteran teachers - to challenge themselves and succeed.
We provide a one-stop shop in our 13,000 square foot space, which was renovated in 2016. Before, during and after school our students have access to the Joseph Meyerhoff Library, a Writing Center, the Cordish Technology Center, the Reed Math and Science Center, George Doetsch Hall, and the Gwaltney Study.
Meyerhoff Library
The Meyerhoff Library at Baltimore City College strives to emulate a college library environment. To cultivate this environment and maximize access, students should:
Guidelines
-
refrain from eating or drinking
-
engage quietly in collaborative work/academic conversation
-
keep music on portable devices at an acceptable minimum
-
respect shared resources, equipment, and furniture

Vision
Reed Center for Mathematics and Science

We welcome City Collegians to the Reed Math & Science Center to develop your inner investigator. Our goal as friendly peer-tutors is to lead students into a deep understanding of mathematical and scientific concepts in order to have collegians see the significance of math and science in life as a whole and not just in the classroom. Without judgment, we encourage and empower our clients to excel in all their mathematical and scientific endeavors. We won’t guarantee that it will be easy but we’re ready to guide you if you’re ready to explore.
George Doetsch Hall
has given us space for student led performances, teacher professional development and event space.
Vision
The Writing Center
The Writing Center is a comfortable, non-judgmental, and welcoming environment. Our goal is to provide students with the support necessary to become effective writers. Our clients are welcome to visit the center at any stage of the writing process and our tutors will work with them to strengthen their writing through client-driven sessions.
